MARRIAGE LICENSE INFORMATION
You can apply for your marriage license in any Florida County.  You must obtain your own marriage license
in person, and you must have a Florida marriage license to get married in Florida.  In some counties you
can start the process on-line, but you must pick up the license in person.  There are no blood test
requirements in the State of Florida.

State of Florida residents:  There is a three-day waiting period.  To waive the three day waiting period, you
can complete a premarital course and you will not have to wait three days (the license fee will also be
reduced).

Out of State residents:  If both the bride AND the groom are not residents of the State of Florida, there is
NO waiting period (if you want to order your marriage license by mail, click on the link below--extra
charges for the marriage license will apply for this service).

As of January 2009, the fee for a Florida Marriage License is $93.50* The marriage license is good for 60
days from the date of issuance.  Regardless of which Florida County you receive your license is, you
wedding ceremony may take place anywhere in the State of Florida.

After your wedding ceremony, your marriage license will be filled out and mailed in to the County  of
issuance to be recorded.  You will receive your recorded copy in the mail from the Florida County.  Once
you receive the recorded copy, you can start the process of changing your name.
